More About Raggedy Ann and Andy Dolls:
These huggable, loveable dolls have been delighting children (and collectors) for over 80 years! They generally have yarn hair and button or sewn eyes and sewn or embroidered features. Raggedy Ann out-sells Raggedy Andy, since the dolls are not always purchased in pairs. The dolls were created by Johnny Gruelle (b. 1880) who also authored a series of books about Raggedy Ann and Andy, starting with "Raggedy Ann's Stories" in 1918.

Handcrafted Dolls by Lu will be at the annual Victorian Christmas to Remember Celebration at the Old Shasta School House in Old Shasta, California !

This event is on December 5th, 10 am to 8 pm and December 6th, 10 am to 5 pm!

Many artists / crafters will be presenting their wares, plus food and holiday fun! Santa will arrive on a fire engine! Large bon fire in the evening! Music throughout the day!

Old Shasta is West of Redding on Highway 299. Take 299 West to Old Shasta, turn right on French Alley, which is the first street right after J's Market and the Old Shasta Post Office, take the first right off of French Alley and you will see the Old Shasta School House on the left side.

This cute little pair of dolls have matching Christmas print outfits. Christmas print has gingerbread men, snowmen, santas, stockings, and other Christmas items. Ann has a cream colored dress with lace and ribbon accents on collar and cuffs, a Christmas print apron, and cream bloomers with lace and ribbon accents. Andy wears a red shirt, denim pants and matching Christmas print tie. Raggedy faces are hand embroidered, with button eyes, and red yarn hair. Classic red and white striped socks and black shoe feet. Dolls are approx. 17 inches in length.
Quilt has Christmas print with cream colored backing. Light padding in quilt.

Cost is $35.00 per set of two dolls and a matching quilt.

Just wanted to post in that I've listed a few more dolls at my doll store, some big girl dolls and a baby doll, as well as two more pairs of Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, dressed in matching outfits! Really cute, would make a wonderful Christmas gift for children to play with, for decorative display, and for doll collectors. Also, I've been curious as the the history of dolls, and have decided to do a little research. I'll be posting here on my finds. I'm going to start with history of dolls in general, then narrow it to history of cloth dolls, and about Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, as well as other types of dolls. I'm hoping to explore a new facet of dolls each week. I want to discuss all kinds of dolls, not just the type that I sell. So, please post in any suggestions for the weekly doll topic.
